Support groups are a means for caregivers and others to exchange ideas, gather information, and discuss their concerns with others who are dealing or have dealt with the same problems. The support group becomes a vital instrument to the caregiver in dealing with the stress of Alzheimer's disease.
Making the decision to attend the first support group can be a difficult one, but after attending the first meeting most participants are anxious for the next one.
