Respite care provides family caregivers with a needed break - time to get away and rejuvenate, so they can better care for their patients and preserve their own mental well-being. With a donation of $250, AFS can provide respite care for a month. However, any amount will help. Alzheimer’s Family Services does not receive any Federal or State funding, and operates with the support and gifts made by local donors in the community. Donations can be made online at www.alzfamserv.org or by calling 478-7790. Although no one was removed from the program, last month we had to reduce the number of hours families received each month because of insufficient funds to support the program, said Kristina Robison, executive director.
