Join Alzheimer’s Family Services’ Volunteer Team
If you are looking for worthwhile volunteer work, a real sense of purpose and the satisfaction of knowing that you are making a difference, join the volunteer team at Alzheimer’s Family Services (AFS). AFS depends on the support of volunteers to meet the needs of caregivers and their loved ones who are living with Alzheimer’s and dementia. AFS volunteers provide help in the office, assisting with mailings, data entry and reception. Fundraising events such as Mozart and Margaritas and the Miles of Memories Walk/Run are planned and run by volunteers. Specially trained volunteers provide support to caregivers through the Alzheimer’s CARE Volunteer Program and serve patients through Project Lifesaver. Volunteers assist facilitators of monthly AFS Caregiver Support Groups. Volunteers who like to sew stitch activity aprons for Alzheimer’s patients. Previous caregivers of Alzheimer’s and dementia patients choose volunteering at AFS as a way to pay forward all that they have learned.
